The introducing of Hakkenshi/The Eight Dog Warriors in Nanso Satomi Hakkenden -Inue Shinbei’s Edition-
Final, I decided to introduce Inue Shinbei.
・Inue Shinbei's character
The protagonist in the last half of "Hakkenden."
He has an orb engraved with the character "Jin(仁)/benevolent."
He has a peony-shaped birthmark on his left side (on the back of his left hand in the TBS drama version).
His childhood name was "Daihachi."
He was born to Inuta Kobungo's younger sister Nui and Sanbayashi Fusahachi.
He was born with the orb of Jin(仁)/benevolent clutched in his left fist, which didn't open until he was four years old.
After a fight between Kobungo and Fusahachi, Fusahachi and Nui die.
So, he was left in Kobungo's care, but was later spirited away.
Later, at the age of nine, he appeared among the Satomi clan and other Dog Warriors, and put down two enemy rebellions.
In the final battle, he uses an medicine to resurrect the dead, which only works on good people, and brings back to life most of the fallen, regardless of whether they were friend or enemy.
His abilities far surpass those of the other other Dog Warriors, and he also has perfect abilities, such as the ability to use medicines of resurrection.
However, he doesn't seem to be popular with readers due to his overwhelmingly saintly behavior and lack of childlike cuteness.
・In the Kadokawa film "Satomi Hakkenden/Legend Of Eight Samurai" in 1983 (Acter: Sanada Hiroyuki.)
The protagonist.
Initially appears as an orphaned samurai, tasked with chasing the heroine Shizuhime (Yakushimaru Hiroko) for money.
But as they travel together they are drawn to each other.
However, later he discovers his true identity as the reincarnated baby of the enemy's great boss, and is on the verge of being drawn into evil.
But thanks to Shizuhime and the other dog warriors he succeeds in returning to the side of good. (That's when the orb of Jin(仁)/benevolent appears.)
After losing all his peers in the final battle, he leaves Shizuhime in the care of a distant relative of Satomi.
But after hearing Shizuhime's true intentions, they set off on a journey somewhere.
・In the TBS New Year's Special Drama "Satomi Hakkenden" in 2006 (Acter: Yamashita Shoon)
"A genius of both the martial arts and the literary ."
His father was killed by Satomi, and at first he tries to kill Satomi clan by his desire for revenge, but he's drawn to Satomi's generosity and decides to serve Satomi instead.
He's like a younger brother to Inuzuka Shino.
He was originally set to have superhuman strength, but this was omitted in the play.
And instead, he was given the ability to control the wind, mainly from his left fist, which remains closed until the end of the story.
In addition to playing a role in suppressing wind disaster, he has also shown impressive results in battle, blowing away enemies and doubling the power of Inuyama Dosetsu's (Ozawa Yukiyoshi) Katon No Jutsu/Fire Style.
・In the OVA "The Hakkenden" (Character Voice: Hidaka Noriko, The voice of Satsuki in My Neighborhood Totoro, Sera Masumi in Conan, Tendo Akane in Ranma 1/2
"The purest person. Therefore, he doesn't understand common sense, and all his thoughts are centered around the Satomi family. To ordinary people, his actions seem abnormal.
The strongest of Hakkenshi. A heretic. A brat."
He is loyal to the Satomi family compared to the Seven Dog Warriors who have encountered various misfortunes and hesitated to serve Satomi.
But, because of this, he is inflexible, ruthless and cocky, willing to make any sacrifice for the survival of Satomi and the destruction of the enemy,
So, he has earned a lot of resentment from those around him, except for Inuzaka Keno.
After showing his overwhelming fighting power in Episode 11, he took Murasamemaru, Inuzuka Shino's treasure, and made it his own in an arm wrestling match. (This caused a rift with Shino as well)
However, he eventually could not bear being alone, and broke down in tears after destroying his enemies.
After that, he reconciled with other Dog Warriors, and threw away the jewel of Jingi-Hachigyo, which was the source of all causation, and set off on a journey with the other Dog Warriors.
This story ends with his words:
"Let's go on a journey together that will change our destiny."
I introduced both “Harem Protagonist as Hakkenshi” and “Garupan Captain Group as Hakkenshi”.
Needless to say,
"The Harem Protagonist as Inue Shinbei ": Kasugano Haruka (Yosuga No Sora)
"The Garupan Captain Group as Inue Shinbei": Shimada Arisu (Special University Team)
Casting was the hardest part.
However, according to Koyano Atsushi's book on Hakkenden, "Hakkenden Kisou,"
Shinbei is "the ideal version of Inuzuka Shino."
So I thought it would be better to start with casting Inuzuka Shino (Itou Makoto and Nishizumi Miho), and so I went with this casting.
(Although I was straied between Aizawa Yuichi from "Kanon" or Haruka)
Haruka doesn't really seem like a "child prodigy," but he's officially defined as a "handsome boy raised in the city," so I thought he'd be a good ideal version of Makoto.
I thought Arisu was the perfect "child prodigy" when it came to Senshado, skipping grades to go to college despite still being a middle school student, so I cast her.
